“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God”

MATTHEW 5:9

The verse is interpreted to mean that Jesus is calling people to be peacemakers in a world full of violence and hate. Peacemakers are people who work to prevent conflicts and mediate disputes. They understand the power of dialogue, empathy, and reconciliation. 

The Hebrew word shalom means peace-making. Peace is more than just the absence of conflict, it also includes human flourishing, well-being, and harmony.
