Meet President Kent Harris. 

An association president has many responsibilities, including:

  • Leadership

    The president is the chief executive officer (CEO) of the association and provides strategic and operational management. They are responsible for the association's day-to-day administration and for carrying out the association's duties.  

  • Meetings

    The president presides over all meetings of the board of directors and membership. They also manage the meeting agenda.  

  • Speaking

    The president is the official spokesperson for the association and the board. They represent the association at conferences and meetings.  

  • Documents

    The president signs important documents and checks, along with the secretary or treasurer. They should read and understand all documents before signing them.  

  • Committee chairs

    The president appoints committee chairs to fill unexpired terms.  

  • Vendor relationships

    The president manages the association's vendor relationships and contracts.  

  • Budget

    The president approves the comprehensive budget and empowers the chief staff executive to make adjustments.  

  • Community needs

    The president should have a fair view of things and understand community needs and concerns. They should be open to constructive criticism and suggestions.
